Mira Anca Victoria Mărculeţ Petrescu (born March 20, 1949) is a Romanian architect and a politician in Romania. She designed the world's largest civilian administrative building, the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania on the orders of Nicolae Ceauşescu in 1986. She was involved in many of the Ceauşescu era "systematisation" redevelopment projects, which included the forced removal of residents to demolish old traditional neighborhoods to replace them with modern, communist buildings.[1][2]
Despite her last name Petrescu, she has no relationship to Nicolae Ceauşescu's wife Elena Ceauşescu (who was born as Elena Petrescu).
